School days and reunions. Had my 25th HS reunion this past week. Some things are just now settling in my mind. I found it interesting, now on reflection, that no one, as far as I could tell, asked each other what they did for work (how nice) -- and certainly not where they went to college. It was such an exciting blur of connecting faces and memories, that the current world we occupy just didn't come up. (With the exception of one conversation with a junior high chum who had somehow found my blog! Hi Barbara!) I find myself now thirsty to know where and how these long ago companions are applying some of the life basics we learned together way back when in Holden, Massachusetts. And as I think back on what people and classes I have managed to remember, I am able to see the greater pattern of what makes me tick as a person, and as a professional. A certain science "nature plot study" class, cheerleading and flexibility-friendly gymnastics, hanging in risky places with some in the high IQ club, writing, media, art, economics, loving to laugh and connect, and thrilling in all things -- like the zip wire in Project Adventure -- that moved me forward in exciting ways and kept the adrenaline flowing!
