Engaged as an Investor Relations consultant to the CEO to help a company having a clear disconnect with its investors. The stock was down. The CEO was newly minted. Investors were upset.
The first steps undertaken were conducting a custom, in-depth Perception Study with investors and a Listening Tour roadshow with the CEO visiting top investors. The perception study provided the CEO and the Board of Directors candid assessments covering investor views regarding management, strategy, communication practices, as well as investor suggestions to management and their views on comparative successful turn-around scenarios from other investments.
Next steps were to aid the CEO, CFO and its advisors on Quarterly conference calls. Conducted pre-and post-call sample surveys, edited script and coached executive team. Ultimately, Polly was engaged to help this company locate and hire a full-time Investor Relations Officer to continue with the cadence of professional investor engagement.
The CEO gained the confidence of investors and the board; activist holders and private equity were held at bay, the Board had better data with which to make decisions, and the stock started what continues today as a progressive valuation improvement.
